welcome!
Healing Thyme Studio is an art studio entirely for adults! Founded by Tori Vilk and Mel Hower, this studio is unlike any other in the Bucks County and Philadelphia regions. Tori and Mel are both board-certified art therapists, and while they don't consider arts and crafts "art therapy", they recognize how making art can be incredibly therapeutic! They realized there was a need for a space where adults can get creative, messy, and playful... and Healing Thyme Studio was born.
All bodies, genders, and races are invited into our space without judgement .

HealingThymeStudio is the place for you if...
You miss being able to express yourself or you've never had the chance to
You are looking to decrease screen time and get back into more analog activities
You want to network or make friends with other creative people in your area
You are within driving distance to Bucks County and the Philadelphia area

about the owners
When you meet Tori and Mel, you'll quickly realize they are the same human! They met in grad school and bonded over their shared interest of art.
and the rest is history!
Tori Vilk
Tori has been healing through her own art making all her life, knowing she wanted to help others heal through their own art making. Majoring in both art and psychology in undergrad, she developed a strong fine arts approach to her own art. Once starting graduate school, she launched a fine art business to spread her love art to everyone. As an art therapist, she approaches art as a skill to learn and bring outside of the therapy session, promoting the ability to learn something new and not have to master it as perfection. As an artist, Tori is live painting at weddings and picked up photography during the pandemic as a new skill to learn. She has a love of home renovations and turning homes or living spaces in livable art. While renovating her own home, she's helped empower others to do the same.

Mel Hower
Mel embodies a blend of tradition and innovation in her artwork. Since 2018, she's been bopping around in the wedding scene, initially with calligraphy and now expanding into photography. Specializing in photography and hand-lettering/calligraphy, she advocates for analog techniques in an increasingly digital world, and believes there's nothing more beautiful than film photos and hand-writing. Mel has always wanted to be a tattoo artist and has even been tattooing her calligraphy onto friends and others! Beyond weddings, Mel also photographs body-liberating boudoir sessions, empowering clients to embrace their bodies just the way they are. As an art therapist, she specializes in helping teens and adults with eating disorders find healing through creativity and talk therapy.
